Meetings & Membership
Monthly Meeting Information
The IARC meets monthly on the first Tuesday. We have multiple meeting location sites; we may vary the meeting location based upon the needs of the club or time of year. Generally, we meet in the basement of the Montgomery County Judicial Center in Independence, KS. The address is 300 E Main Street in Independence. Our meetings start at 19:00 and generally last an hour.
First time visitors take note: because the building is locked after hours, you will have to "buzz in" to the building in order to gain entrance. After entering the outer doors at main entrance (under the flag pole), you'll need to push the buzzer on the left of the second set of double-doors. The sheriff department dispatcher will answer; just indicate that you are there for the ham club meeting and you'll be allowed to enter the building.
Be sure to check out our calendar of events to determine the next official club activity. Everyone is invited to attend; you do not need to be a member (or ham operator) to attend. Join us!
Membership in the IARC is open to everyone. While most of our members are currently licensed ham operators, it is not a requirement in order to join our club and enjoy the love of amateur radio. Annual membership dues are $20 per person (discounts are available for family memberships or students).
We also offer a free year of membership to anyone who passes a technician license examination at one of our testing sessions. For complete membership details, please refer to our governing documents.
Club Call Sign & Official Trustee
The IARC has been granted the call sign N0ID from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Our club's official trustee is Don Moore, W5FFK.
